Liverpool: Fans applaud Nuno Espirito Santo’s comments on Diogo Jota

Many Liverpool fans flocked to Twitter to show their respect for Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo after what he said about Reds’ forward Diogo Jota.

The 23-year-old moved to Anfield from Wolves for £41m in the summer and has made an instant impact in Jurgen Klopp’s side, scoring seven goals from his first 10 games, including a stunning hat-trick against Atalanta in the Champions League (TransferMarkt).

While Jota scored 16 times for Wolves last season, Nuno showed no envy towards his former player’s decision to leave Molineux before the 2020/21 campaign got underway.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference this week (cited by @LFCVine), the Portuguese tactician was delighted for Jota starting his new adventure strongly on Merseyside, adding that their four-year working relationship makes him even happier to see him succeed on the pitch elsewhere.
