Fans will be outraged if these 2 Tottenham Hotspur players are axed in January

Tottenham Hotspur were one of the stories of last season when they went toe-to-toe with Leicester City in the race for the Premier League title, with boss Mauricio Pochettino drawing immense credit.

Spurs eventually finished third, pipped into second by fierce rivals Arsenal, although the first shoots of a revival for the once great club were clear.

The club’s supporters in the Transfer Tavern have been mightily pleased with the club’ start to the domestic campaign, with Spurs in fifth place at the moment just three points off the top of the league.

One ardent Spurs nut is supping a pint of Guinness here in the Tavern and he thinks that with a few additions, and departures, come January the club can challenge once again for the title.

The Tavern’s Lee Clarke looked at two players who, if they were sold, would cause unrest between the Spurs faithful.

Hugo Lloris

The France captain is one of the top goalkeepers in the world and a player of his quality needs to be playing regular Champions League football.

Spurs’ progression into the next round of the competition is hanging by a thread and with no guarantee that they will qualify for next year’s competition just yet, Lloris could start considering his future.

Our football-mad landlord thinks that the stopper is integral to Spurs’ fortunes, stating that if he was to be sold, the club could kiss goodbye to winning major honours any time soon.

Harry Winks

Harry Winks

The Spurs youngster has started to feature more prominently for the first-team and several of the die-hard fans here in the Tavern have been calling for him to be given even more of a chance by Pochettino.

Winks is very much the future at White Hart Lane, although there is a fear among some Spurs fans that he might be loaned out for the second half of the campaign.

A member of the Tavern’s darts team is a devout Spurs fan and he thinks that Winks should be playing much more regularly than he currently is, stating that he will only get better with more game time.

Spurs fans, would you be unhappy if these two players left the club? Who should be moved on by the manager? Let us know in the comments below!!!
