Barry Ferguson has suggested that Glasgow Rangers Alfredo Morelos may have changed his mind in terms of him wanting a move away from Ibrox.
Morelos may stay
Morelos was linked with a move away throughout the whole of the summer. At one point, he was reported to have agreed personal terms with Lille, whilst he also admitted that a move to a more prestigious league would interest him. Steven Gerrard even put him on the bench for three consecutive games.

In the end, though, he stayed with the 54-time Scottish champions. Now, club legend Ferguson believes he wouldn’t want to depart at the moment. He wrote for The Daily Record:
“Why wouldn’t Morelos want to stay at Rangers now?
“I understand people want to go and play at the top level in England but he has a long time to go, so he needs to go and achieve things at a brilliant club first.”
Plenty to achieve
As Ferguson says, the Gers’ current form may entice the £13.5m-valued Colombia international (Transfermarkt) to stay north of the border. So far this season, Gerrard’s side sit top of the Premiership, and they are also joint-top of their Europa League group.

In the long-term, 24-year-old Morelos may well depart, but right now, he has the chance to write himself into the history of the club if he can contribute to a title-winning campaign. If he can do that, Rangers and their supporters would likely let him depart with their blessing, as long as a club meets his valuation.
