‘Find your inner Biscan’ - Liverpool fans on Twitter send support to key man ahead of tonight

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from their club captain Jordan Henderson ahead of the massive Champions League tie against Manchester City tonight. Henderson, whilst speaking in an interview for the Liverpool website claimed that the club are where they are on merit and that there’s no external pressure greater than the pressure they put on themselves.

The comments from the 27-year-old have drawn praise from the Reds propping our bar up as the Anfield faithful prepare to get behind their side for what promises to be one of the games of the season. Anfield is no stranger to a European night, with some of the club’s most famous games coming at home in European competition. Even recently, Dejan Lovren’s 91st winner over Dortmund to seal a 5-4 aggregate win, despite coming from 3-1 behind on the night, is one of the club’s more memorable games.

Whilst players and fans alike are no doubt getting ready for the game in different ways, the task ahead of them is a huge one. Manchester City are arguably the best team in the world at the moment and when Kevin De Bruyne and co really get going, there are only a handful of teams on the planet who can cope with their slick, free-flowing football. Henderson will need to be at the very top of his game as he leads the Liverpool midfield into battle against David Silva, Fernandinho and De Bruyne in the middle of the park for City. Whatever the result, it promises to be an incredible fixture.
