Fiorentina’s £5M Bid Is Bound To Succeed

Marouane Chamakh could be heading off to Italy, with Fiorentina recently announcing their interest in signing the Moroccan striker this month.

Chamakh, who will make his last appearance for the club tonight against Leeds before heading off to the African Cup of Nations, has been linked with a move away from The Emirates in recent weeks with numerous clubs expressing their interest, and has even suggested the possibility of leaving the club but remaining in England.

Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen his side this January and with news that Fiorentina are preparing to pay in the region of £5 million for Chamakh’s services, a player he signed on a free from Bordeaux in 2010, the Frenchman could utilize the cash on a particular area of his squad.

Over the summer I was suggesting that Arsenal should hang on to Chamakh and give him a chance to develop and adapt. However, he has had his chances already this season and has simply failed to deliver. Robin Van Persie has been in the form of his life and with Thierry Henry’s return albeit on a two month loan, I would struggle to see how the Moroccan international would even feature for the side if he wasn’t going to the African Cup of Nations.

It remains to be seen whether the 27-year-old will stay or be sold. Personally, I think the latter should occur.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
