Manchester United will still have some focus on the football season, with tomorrow’s FA Cup clash against Crystal Palace in the minds of everyone, but it’s fair to say there will be some focus on the transfer window after what’s been a largely poor season.
Attack has been where the Red Devils have struggled this season, despite the efforts of young duo Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, but with Wayne Rooney long past his best, the club desperately need a big-name striker to guarantee them of goals.
With the European Championships kicking off next month, United could scout the tournament for the perfect striker and there’s likely to be plenty of movement after the tournament, with a wealth of Europe’s top sides chasing new faces.
United have the pedigree and finances to lure top players to Old Trafford, which is crucial this year after failing to land a spot in the Champions League spots.

Harry Kane
Following a meteoric rise over the past few campaigns, Harry Kane enters this summer’s European Championships as England’s main man and the Premier League golden boot winner. For Manchester United, he’s the perfect signing.
Snatching him from Tottenham Hotspur will prove to be extremely difficult, with the Lilywhites securing a Champions League spot next season and United left with the Europa League, and it’s unlikely that Kane will be on the move.
However, money talks in the modern era and a large sum of cash could get the two clubs talking.
Antoine Griezmann
Having excelled with France at the last World Cup, Antoine Griezmann has become a household name following his move to Atletico Madrid. He’ll be his nations main-man this summer, due to the absence of Karim Benzema, and he continues to attract wide interest.
Manchester United’s hopes of signing the forward could be boosted next weekend if Atletico win the Champions League but it will still be difficult to persuade one of Europe’s finest finishers to give up a spot in the continent’s elite competition.
Griezmann has heavily been linked with a Premier League move in the past though and if he decides it’s the right time for a career change, then it could play into United’s hands.
Alvaro Morata
The Spaniard will almost definitely be on the move this summer as Real Madrid prepare to activate the buy-back clause in his contract with Juventus and then sell to the highest bidder, which may end up being Manchester United.
Morata has a solid record on the continent for Juventus and Real Madrid but he’s still classed as unproven by many. Moving to the Premier League would help the striker cement himself as a regular starter for his country and potentially become the big-name forward Los Rojas have lacked since the days when David Villa and Fernando Torres were in their prime.
Competition will be fierce for Morata though, with Arsenal also chasing his signature.
Robert Lewandowski
The dream signing for Manchester United, there’s talk of this striker being on the move despite Robert Lewandowski playing for one of the finest clubs in European football, Bayern Munich. With Pep Guardiola out and Carlo Ancelotti in though, it could be all change in Bavaria.
If Lewandowski were to leave Bundesliga football then there are few sides that could genuinely afford his signature, though Manchester United are definitely one of them. Again though, the absence of Champions League football could be telling.
Bayern would also command a massive sum of money though, with Lewandowski’s record showing him to be one of the best strikers in the world.
Romelu Lukaku
A name familiar to Premier League fans, Romelu Lukaku will almost definitely be on the move this summer and there’s a chance he could leave Everton before a ball is kicked at Euro 2016, with the striker heavily linked to Manchester United.
With Everton nowhere near European football, luring Lukaku to a club that can only offer Europa League opportunities won’t be too much of an issue. However, there is the danger of other clubs beating United in the hunt, including the likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
