Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are hoping that last weekend’s result is a sign of things to come, although possible departures could halt the Reds’ progress.
The current campaign has treated Jurgen Klopp’s side well up until this date, with defensive mistakes proving to be the only downfall for the Reds so far this season, though some of their excellent attacking play has truly been a joy to watch for all those on Merseyside.
Although, with a shot at the Champions League trophy still in sight, Liverpool fans will be hoping that their side can recreate the magic of Istanbul, this under the charismatic stewardship of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
However, since capturing the signing of Virgil Van Dijk, Liverpool look to be a changed side having won all their games since the arrival of the world’s most expensive defender.
Indeed, with trophies being desired in most players eyes, midfielder Emre Can has been the subject of interest from Italian giants Juventus, with his contract set to expire at Anfield during the summer.
A player who’s been pivotal to their recent rise in form, and always managed to grind out a fine performance when times were tough.
Although, the German hasn’t always been a regular inclusion in the side with the gaffer often opting for the services of Dutch star Georginio Wijnaldum instead.
In a team that’s full of attacking superstars, the German gets overshadowed at times with his eyes set firmly on being the star of the show.
But, with Juventus already stating an interest in the midfielder, it’s time they turned their attention to signing these TWO midfielders…
Ivan Rakitic

The Croatian has announced himself as one of the hottest prospects in La Liga football since joining Barcelona, with goals, assists and an eagle-eyed vision all making him out to be a dangerous asset.
However, this campaign he’s struggled to get into a blossoming Barcelona side that’s already snatched up the services of Philippe Coutinho, a player who could be the last straw for Rakitic’s future in Cataluna.
A player who could certainly fill any possible Emre Can void, offering a bundle of attacking and defensive qualities, that can bring both solidity and an attacking threat to this Liverpool side.
Max Meyer

Max Meyer has been one of the hottest topics in world football of late, with interest coming in from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur for the 22-year-old.
Playing for current club Schalke in the German Bundesliga, the former attacking-midfielder has converted into more of a deep-lying role, as he looks to run the engine room in the middle of the park.
Perfect for an Emre Can replacement. Offering that something special in the Reds’ midfield with his low centre of gravity making it near on impossible to tackle the midfielder, as shades of Philippe Coutinho could be seen at Anfield once again.
With his contract set to expire in the summer months, this could be the perfect opportunity for an immediate replacement that would kick-start preparation for next season, with the signing of one of Germany’s biggest talents.
