Our Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern would like a little more flair in the team rampaging up and down the new stadium’s pitch next season. Having had a great second half of the season and getting themselves into the Champions League places, Mauricio Pochettino will look to build upon this foundation he’s laid to progress further next year.

Recent reports have linked Chelsea winger, Kenedy – who is currently on a short-term loan at Newcastle United – with a move to the Lillywhites. In what is expected to be a very complicated fight for the Brazilians signature, with many different factors going into where he’ll end up next year, there are reportedly a number of teams involved.

One option is for him to remain at the Magpies where he has enjoyed a successful period and built a close relationship with Rafa Benitez so far, and impressed the likes of Bayern Munich and PSG into potentially making a move, while a new manager at the helm at his club Chelsea could see him return to SW6 and make a name for himself there.

To our regulars, it all sounds a little complicated and they would rather see Pochettino go for a different option of winger for the new season.

With that in mind, our landlord has taken a look at TWO potential stars that could make the move to the Lillywhites in the summer with a lot less fuss behind them…

Wilfried Zaha

The Crystal Palace winger has been in sparkling this season, either side of his injury and is one of the main reasons behind Palace’s recent Premier League resurgence.

Although he didn’t quite make the grade at Old Trafford, the decision to return back to The Eagles seems to be paying off dividends. Following a string of outstanding performances in the Premier League, the Ivory Coast international is now looking back to the raw talent that earnt him a move to United in the first place.

A move to Spurs would see Zaha make the step up in level once again and you’d think this time he’d be better prepared to fully take his chance.

Riyad Mahrez

Having signed Lucas Moura in the January window, Pochettino would be silly not to even it up on the flanks and bring in midfielder Riyad Mahrez, who has handed in a transfer request in his past two windows. The Algerian has been Leicester City’s best player since they won the Premier League and can dribble past defenders with ease, create many chances and score a goal out of nothing.

A more direct player like Mahrez could be the turning point for Spurs and someone to add that sprinkle of stardust.
