Our Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be eager to see who they are linked with in the summer months. Certainly, Mauricio Pochettino will be looking for more young and upcoming talent much like Dele Alli, who was a diamond in the rough hiding in the lower leagues.
The latest player our regulars are all talking about is Norwich City’s James Maddison, the midfielder has had a host of eye-catching displays this season in the Championship. Despite the Canaries languishing in mid-table, Maddison has kept the goals and assists coming, scoring 14 already this campaign.
The playmaking England u21 international is catching the attention of many of the big Premier League clubs including Man City, Liverpool, and Everton with them all starting to circle over a reported £25m demand from Norwich.
However, Pochettino should stick to his beliefs of bringing through his youth players our regulars feel, as they have got similar-potential players just waiting for a chance to prove themselves – much like he has done for so many years now.

Kaziah Sterling
The 19-year-old striker is just waiting in the shadows at Spurs for his chance to shine. So far this season, he’s bagged himself a plethora of goals in his appearances for the Tottenham Hotspur u23’s, alongside many assists, surely proving his class to the Argentine.
With the red-hot form of Harry Kane, Sterling may be waiting a while to be a regular in the first team, but with the England man currently out injured, if given the chance, Sterling should look to impress and prove to Pochettino that he can be a worthy backup for the time being.
Tashan Oakley-Boothe
The centre-midfielder is playing way above his age in the u18’s and many in the bar believe it won’t be long before he’s making radical waves throughout Spurs. Having won the U17 World Cup last year with the England side, he made such a huge impact in that competition that it got many in the game talking.
Spurs are seriously lacking in midfield options and a little bit of something different to offer might be the making of Oakley-Boothe.
