The prospect of Chelsea signing Christian Pulisic is undoubtedly an exciting thought for fans. According to the Mirror, the Blues are interested in the American who could cost up to £65 million, with Maurizio Sarri seemingly keen on upgrading his attacking options.
Chelsea’s forward line struggled last season, with a lack of service to Morata and an otherwise lack of quality leaving them short.
Pulisic, then, you’d think would be a great option, but perhaps the Blues should look elsewhere.
The American doesn’t have much experience at the highest level, on a consistent basis at least, and his stats last season for Borussia Dortmund were hardly impressive enough to warrant such a seismic transfer.
This is especially true when you consider the vast number of alternatives that the club could target. Regardless of what Maurizio Sari is looking for, he could find a better solution to the problem than Pulisic.
With that said, Chelsea would be crazy not to target these 2 alternatives instead…

A right-winger by trade, he’d be well placed to replace someone like Willian.

He’s arguably more ready to make an impact at Chelsea, and he’s far more suited to a role on the right.
Perhaps, though, Sarri is looking for more experience – and he’d certainly struggle to do better in that search than Ivan Perisic.
Perisic was a part of the Croatia team that broke England hearts during the World Cup, and he was absolutely crucial for his team.
He’s just as key for Inter Milan, offering lethal quality down the flanks and a strong work ethic going backwards.
He’s arguably one of the best all-around attacking midfielders in the world, and he may be able to form a deadly duo with Eden Hazard.
