Forget Ronaldo: Chelsea must target 1 of these 2 superstar forwards instead

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for Antonio Conte to bring in some reinforcements up front to help Alvaro Morata.

Conte must be scouring the lengths of Europe to find a quality second striker, as the number one striker Morata struggles with fatigue and form from time to time. Our regulars in the bar today think by adding a superstar forward to the ranks instead of a back up should aid both forwards’ game.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the former Man United fan favourite, Cristiano Ronaldo as he seemingly tries to negotiate a move away from Real Madrid after the worst start to a season in recent history for the Portuguese superstar. However, despite all CR7 has done in the game, the Blues in our bar aren’t overly convinced on the idea of signing him.

Indeed, Conte has a second striker in Michy Batshuayi but he doesn’t seem to be a favourite with the Italian. With that in mind, our landlord takes a deeper look into two superstar forwards that Chelsea and the board should look to be bringing in…

Edison Cavani

The Uruguayan forward has been prolific in the French league with Paris St.Germain, bagging himself 27 goals already this campaign in his 34 appearances in all competitions. However, things don’t look rosy at PSG with the recent arrival of Neymar and Cavani could be open to a move away from the French giants.

A stab at the Premier League may be on the bucket list for Cavani and, into his 30s, Chelsa may get a striker with experience and the know-how to find the back of the net on a regular basis.

Paulo Dybala

After having a successful time under Conte with Juventus, a reunion would make sense for the duo. At the ripe age of 24, Dybala is young enough to enjoy many a year at Stamford Bridge and his eye for goal can only improve.

This term he has hit the back of the net on 17 occasions in 29 matches in all competitions, being among the most prolific in Serie A. Dybala can play either as a forward or just behind the front man, either way he is deadly and will likely replace Lionel Messi for the Argentina national side in the future.
