Former Hammers boss in line for Fulham role

Sky Bet Championship club Fulham are the latest Championship club to begin the hunt for a new manager and the Cottagers faithful present in the Transfer Tavern have begun speculating as to who could be the next manager.

Nigel Pearson, Paul Lambert and John Carver have been linked with the post but a couple of lads eagerly awaiting their pub lunch have been drawn to an article on the BBC, which links none other than Alan Curbishley to the vacancy.

The ex-West Ham United manager has not been involved in management since 2008 and would be a shock appointment to say the least, should he be handed the reigns.

The landlord is in disbelief and completely forgot Curbishley, who has been in an advisory role at Craven Cottage, even existed!

He said: “Alan Curbishley? You’re joking aren’t you? How can a man just walk back into management after a seven year sabbatical? Not a chance he will get that role for me.”
