The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been preparing to see Bruno Alves depart Ibrox after reputable Rangers’ journalist, Raman Bhardwaj has claimed the defender is set to sign for Parma. At the age of 36, it looks like a good move to get the Portuguese defender out of Glasgow.
Bruno Alves set for Ibrox exit. He’s set to sign for Parma. Deal could go through today.

This move looks like a very good one for the fans who will be hoping the small transfer fee and large wages that are freed up by Alves’ departure will be put towards bringing in another couple of stars for Steven Gerrard at the club. The 96-cap international joined the club on a free transfer last summer and will now be moving on just 12 months after leaving Cagliari for the Bluenoses.
Alves’ time at the club won’t be looked back on with much fondness, the central defender made 25 appearances this season in all competitions under both Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty, although the fans haven’t exactly had anything to shout about when watching the Portuguese international. This summer has also been a disappointing one for the Ger as he failed to play a single minute in the World Cup for his country, with both Pepe and Jose Fonte chosen ahead of him.

The Gers in the Tavern will be delighted to get Alves off their books as they look to a new era under Steven Gerrard.
