The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping the rumours linking their club to a January move for Thomas Muller are true.
Reports from the Mirror have revealed that Arsenal are planning on renewing their interest in Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller when the January window rolls around.
The 27-year-old is yet to complete a full 90 minutes for Munich in the league this season which is representative of the frustrating year Muller has had.
Arsenal have had a difficult start to their 2017/18 league campaign as well with just one win from their opening three games with their last match against Liverpool ending in an embarrassing 4-0 defeat.
Despite Muller having hardly featured for Bayern this season, the club seems unwilling to sell the World Cup winner.
Despite their shortcomings so far, if Muller was to join the Gunners then they would have one of the best front lines in the world on paper.
With that being said, here is Arsenal’s potential January attack that includes Thomas Muller.
RW: Alexis Sanchez
This inclusion hangs on the fact that Arsene Wenger won’t cave in January and finally sell Alexis Sanchez.
When the Chilean is at his best, he is one of the best players in the world and has been Arsenal’s standout performer ever since he signed for the club.
His work rate will suit the hardworking nature of Thomas Muller in the Arsenal set up.
ST: Thomas Muller
A contribution of 294 goals in 399 games for Bayern Munich proves just how good of a player the 27-year-old is.
He’s done it all at club level and has a World Cup winners medal to his name internationally.
Muller works hard and scores goals and right now that is all Arsenal need.
It is also likely that one day Thomas Muller will overtake Miroslav Klose’s 16 goals at the World Cup finals which further proves his goal scoring ability.
LW: Mesut Ozil
Muller’s German team mate, when Mesut Ozil is giving 100% he can create chances out of nothing.
His work at international level with Muller would help the centre-forward settle in a lot quicker at the Emirates which could only bring positive performances.
He is the passing master of the Premier League and would be a crucial part of this amazing front line for Arsenal.
ST: Alexandre Lacazette
Other than his goal against Leicester on the opening day of the season, it has been a slow start for Alexandre Lacazette at Arsenal.
However, when he eventually starts bagging the goals it is likely they won’t stop.
A proven goal scorer during his time at Lyon, by the time January rolls around, Lacazette will have settled into life in London very nicely.
