The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been waking up to the news that Michael O’Halloran has been offloaded from Glasgow to Australia, as the 27-year-old has agreed on a move to Melbourne City in Australia’s A-League. The winger scored three goals in his 18-months at Ibrox after signing from St Johnstone in January 2016. Fans can read more on the Rangers website.

The winger fell out of favour at Ibrox after failing to impress in Glasgow, spending the first-half of the 2017/18 season at St Johnstone, where he scored five goals for the club, before returning to Rangers for the second half of the season and failing to make an impact. It will be for this reason that Steven Gerrard has cut ties with the winger, with the Scouse legend already bringing six signings into the club, and more expected to be brought in.
The Scottish winger has signed a two-year deal with Melbourne City and will most likely be a starter for the A-League side. At the age of 27 after failing to crack English football with Bolton or Scottish football with Rangers, a move abroad was always going to be likely for the winger who never became a favourite with the Bluenoses, and after he was seen sitting in the Celtic end of Hampden Park for the Scottish Cup final there really was no way back for him.

As you can see, there’s delight among the fans to see O’Halloran leave as they don’t have any place at Ibrox for a Celtic fan.
