Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with what Steven Gerrard has already managed to do at Ibrox, however, they could be in for more of the same in the next few weeks.
The former Liverpool star has been busy since he was named the manager of the Ibrox outfit, having made six signings this summer already and it appears that he could be far from done with his recruitment drive.
Gerrard has already added Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield, Jamie Murphy, Ovie Ejaria, Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson as he looks to complete the overhaul of his squad in time for the new Scottish Premiership season, however, he has hinted that it may not have finished there.
“The centre-back area was obviously one we had to act pretty quickly on and try and get a head start just because of the changes and dynamics of it, but we are looking to strengthen every area,” he told the club’s official website.
“In every area I think we can improve, we will pounce and we will do it.”
Landlord’s Verdict
The Rangers fans will be pleased to see Gerrard continuing his recruitment drive as they look to put the past behind them and ensure they are in a position to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for domestic honours.
The club went through a similar transfer phase last summer when Pedro Caixinha was in charge, however, the locals will be hoping the newest bunch of faces will not flop as the Portuguese’s arrivals did.
