The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were surprised when their side signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The former Arsenal midfielder had struggled for the Gunners, and so a move to Anfield came with more than a little bit of risk.
However, since completing the switch, the Ox has surprised just about everyone in the Transfer Tavern. Typically playing through the heart of the midfield, he has been simply fantastic.
He played arguably his best game of the season over the weekend, too, having had a starring role in Liverpool’s 4-3 win against Man City on Sunday. Opening up the scoring for his club, he gave everyone a boost with his performance, and in truth, he was arguably the star of the show on the day.
Following the game, the Englishman took to Twitter to react to the game, and it’s fair to say that he was pretty happy. However, we aren’t sure he was quite as happy as his fans were.

Liverpool supporters responded in their droves to the message from the Ox, firing so many compliments his way. They’re clearly very grateful that he is showing so much love to the fans. With lots of praise and a few comparisons to Coutinho, it’s fair to say that he’s a popular man at Anfield.
