Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been impressed with the influence Steven Gerrard has already had on the side since he was named manager and will be hoping it can continue.
The former Liverpool star has been extremely active in the transfer market this summer and has already made six signings to try and turn the Ibrox outfit into the force it once was and compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Gerrard is also looking to offload a number of players this summer as he looks to strengthen the side, however, he has just lost one man that he had hoped to keep in Glasgow for the upcoming season.
Landlord’s Verdict
The departure of Holt could start to show that the influence of a big name like Gerrard taking over may not have as much power as many of the Rangers locals in the Tavern would have liked.
The residents in the bar will be delighted that it is only a loan move, as they feel the central midfielder is a tidy player and would be able to able to have an impact if given the chance to play, however, with all the additions being made, a loan move may just make some sense.
