Glasgow Rangers: Fans rage at Neil Doncaster’s comments on arbitration verdict

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans were fuming over comments made by SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster following the delivery of the arbitration verdict on the so-called ‘M8 Alliance’.

As per Daily Record, Hearts and Partick Thistle have failed in their attempts to get their respective points-per-game relegations from the prematurely-finished 2019/20 season overturned after their case was referred to the Scottish FA for an arbitration process which ruled that their relegations should stand.

Shortly after that news was confirmed, Doncaster spoke out in favour of the verdict, saying that he was “absolutely delighted that our approach has been vindicated throughout”, with his quotes shared on Twitter by @ClydeSSB.

Many ‘Gers fans have previously slammed the SPFL chief following the club’s recent run-ins with the governing body of Scottish football. The Ibrox club accused the SPFL of corruption following the resolution proposal vote which saw Dundee’s choice first not registered and subsequently being changed. The ‘Gers then compiled a 200-page dossier in an attempt to prove the SPFL’s wrongdoing and called for an independent investigation into the organisation, but that request was rejected.

These ‘Gers fans on Twitter unsurprisingly took umbrage with Doncaster’s words on the arbitration verdict, with one supporter describing the comments as “absolutely horrible”:
