A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have slammed former Ibrox midfielder Charlie Adam for comments he made regarding transfer speculation involving Alfredo Morelos.
The Reading midfielder told BBC [via Daily Record] that the ‘Gers should sell the 24-year-old, who has been strongly linked with a move to Lille, for between £8m and £12m, despite Ibrox managing director Stewart Robertson hinting that the Light Blues want roughly £20m for him.

However, citing the recession in the global transfer market arising from the global pandemic, Adam feels that the ‘Gers should be willing to accept a considerably lower sum, saying: “I would get rid of him. If the money comes for him, I’d get rid of him now.
“You’re not going to get £15m or £20m, so anything between £8m and £12m you’ve got to take it and move on. I know he’s their best player, but you’ve got to remember the market at the moment.”

According to Jordan Campbell for The Athletic, the Light Blues have already rejected an offer of £13m plus bonuses from Lille for the Colombian striker, who found the net 29 times for Steven Gerrard’s side last season and has hit 77 goals in 137 appearances for his current club.
