Rangers: Fans cautiously optimistic about tonight’s clash against Hibernian

Some Rangers fans on social media are cautiously optimistic that their team can return to winning ways tonight, but not without a struggle.

Ahead of the visit of Hibernian to Ibrox in the Premiership, ‘Gers fan @Cjnovo992 on Twitter asked followers for their predictions as to how they think the game will pan out. While the majority predicted a home win for Steven Gerrard’s side, quite a few are expecting a nervous night for the Light Blues. Rangers go into the match having collected just four points from the last nine on offer in the league, with their recent defeat at Hearts and last Saturday’s goalless draw at home to Aberdeen seeing them drop seven points behind table toppers Celtic.

However, the ‘Gers have beaten Hibernian comprehensively in their two previous meetings this season. Gerrard’s men won 3-0 at Easter Road just before Christmas, scoring twice in the first eight minutes, and thumped the Edinburgh outfit 6-1 in the teams’ most recent Ibrox clash last August. Jermain Defoe hit a hat-trick that day but won’t replicate the feat tonight as he is sidelined with a calf injury.

These Rangers fans on Twitter think their team will claim maximum points but anticipate a difficult game:
