The Landlord here at The Transfer Tavern could hardly shut Leeds fans round the bar up this season as they saw their team mount a significant bid to make the English Championship play-offs. While their team may have ultimately just fallen short, supporters here are still optimistic about their chances next season.
The club may currently be manager-less after the departure of Garry Monk but that hasn’t stopped fans dreaming of signings this summer and they’ve turned their eye to one man in particular – Joe Ledley.
Crystal Palace confirmed this week that the Welsh international would be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the month, ending a three year spell at the Eagles.
The former Celtic man has emerged into a consistent English Premier League midfielder in recent years but has found himself not exactly first choice this season, making just 13 starts in the league.
However, Leeds fans clearly feel like he can be the man to help their promotion push this season. Ledley of course has extensive experience in the Championship, starring for Cardiff City for many years.
