Liverpool supporters have been in high spirits in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their team brush aside Stoke City 3-0 at the bet365 Stadium on Wednesday night, thus extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven games.
Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their clash with the Potters off the back of drawing against both Sevilla and Chelsea, both of which were matches they could and perhaps should have won. Yet there was little doubt about the result on Wednesday in Staffordshire as a brace from Mohamed Salah as well as a first half strike from Sadio Mane sealed a comfortable victory for the Merseyside giants, who in turn moved up to fifth in the Premier League table at the expense of Tottenham, who lost to Leicester City the night before.
Consequently, there has been many delighted Liverpudlians in the Tavern this week, several of whom are eagerly anticipating their team’s trip to Brighton on Saturday, where Klopp’s side will seek an eighth league win of the campaign.
In the meantime though, there has been plenty for our resident Reds fans to get their teeth into, not least recent comments from midfielder Emre Can regarding his future at Anfield.
The 23-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign and as of yet he has not agreed an extension, and the man himself has recently said that he could still sign a new deal at the club, albeit he also refused to rule out a move away.
And these comments have stimulated quite a reaction from Liverpool fans on Twitter, many of whom are getting increasingly restless regarding the developing transfer saga…
Get rid ASAP

If he was keen on being a Liverpool player he would have signed a new contract by now. Tbh I don’t want him to stay.

I’m a little bit nervous about the Emre Can situation.
Hopefully he’ll stay a red , because he’s adapting very well with the way Klopp plays!
Would be a big loss if he go!#LFC— Hened Collaku (@henedersonn) November 30, 2017
Emre Can would be a huge loss to #LFC. He would be a much better captain too.

Emre Can is a liability to @LFC because he wants to leave the club. Klopp should only play him when he has no other choice.

He wants a guaranteed spot in the starting 11 line-up. That part of his demands. Money will always be an issue. Think goals and assist too

Those Emre Can quotes about leaving things to his agent is ridiculous. If he wants to stay at Liverpool its his own decision, not his agents. Obviously he wants to go so hes asked his agent to find a club! We need to stop players leaving so often!

Emre Can won’t extend his contract with #LFC he’s saying that there’s still possibility he’ll sign his contract extension just to keep fans quiet. I’m not arsed about him staying or leaving he’s not special. I don’t see what LFC fans see about him.
