Glasgow Rangers and the rest of Scottish football have been in turmoil ever since the pandemic hit Scotland.
The season needed to be suspended, of course, as it was no longer safe to play, but ever since there have been plenty of problems not related to the disease. First, the Gers accused the SPFL of corruption following their handling of the resolution proposal, with them even demanding an internal investigation into the governing body – although that was eventually quashed.

Now, we also have Hearts and Partick Thistle moving ahead with legal action against the authority after Ann Budge’s proposed reconstruction of the Scottish footballing pyramid failed to garner enough backing.

The latest news is that the SPFL is close to securing a £2.5m settlement with BT Sport in regards to the games that could not be broadcast following the premature end to the 2019/20 campaign. This has attracted plenty of attention from the Gers supporters, and their anger is clear for all to see – one fan even called it “disgusting”. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.

So the season was ended early to give clubs their prize money even though it meant tv money refunds that total more than the prize money!!! Add to that the missed opportunity of revenue for clubs and the unfair relegation and legal fights to come.
