Steven Gerrard encountered his first real stumbling block of the Premiership season on Sunday as Glasgow Rangers faced Livingston.
Before this match, the Gers had been in fantastic form, winning their first three matches without even conceding a goal. However, as they travelled to play on a plastic pitch at the Tony Macaroni Arena, they struggled to show their ability in front of goal and, although they kept a clean sheet once more, they could only come away with a 0-0 draw.
There were plenty of disappointing performances on the day for the Ibrox outfit, and one of them came from midfielder Ryan Jack, according to the supporters – something which is a little surprising considering he managed a 7.8 SofaScore rating, the joint-highest of any Gers player. It seems his passing range was particularly frustrating for the fans though, as just two of the 128 passes he completed in the match were key.
Is Ryan Jack good enough for Rangers?
Yes
No
The fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts – one fan called him a “waste of a jersey” – and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
Ryan Jack is dire to watch, so slow to move the ball on #Rangers

Dire from Rangers. People keep telling me how good Ryan Jack is? He is one of our main problems. Still no leaders in side and a midfield that is so pedestrian and predictable it’s criminal. No leadership in side. The lack of urgency in that performance was deplorable.

Ryan Jack, absolute horrendous #LIVRAN

See in games like that today, Ryan jack is a waste of a Jersey.
If livi don’t want to even cross the half way line you don’t need a jack type player. Need someone to pass between the lines not someone recycling the ball sideways.
Hagi farmed out wide right is criminal too.

When your centre backs play more dangerous passes than your first pick midfielder the issue is blatant. Ryan Jack is so limited its painful to watch 🤒

We will never win the league with Ryan Jack running our midfield
