Glasgow Rangers: Fans laud Jermain Defoe after comments emerge

Jermain Defoe has been a fantastic signing for the Gers since joining from Bournemouth, first on loan and now permanently.

He has now been at the club since January last year, and he has scored a hatful of goals during time. All in all, he has managed 25 strikes in 52 games, as well as eight assists, which is not bad going especially when you consider that Alfredo Morelos is the main man at Ibrox at the moment.

The fact that the Gers have managed to capture the £1.26m-valued 37-year-old – as per Transfermarkt – on a free transfer, given he has managed to net 163 Premier League goals during his career, is rather impressive.

Defoe has been talking about completing the switch north of the border and how he is looking forward to starting the new season. Speaking to Rangers TV, the Englishman said: “To actually be a Rangers player is something I was looking forward to and I am happy that it got done and I am just looking forward to the season.”
