Glasgow Rangers have missed out on Ivan Toney, who has completed a move to Brentford.
The Gers had been linked with the striker, who previously played for Peterborough. The 24-year-old was in stunning form for Posh last season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions, despite the League One term being brought to a premature close due to the current pandemic.

Now, though, it has been confirmed that he has made a switch to the Championship club, with the Bees paying £5m for his services – the fee could rise to £10m with add-ons.
Of course, this is a blow for the Gers – Toney has proven himself to be a lethal striker, albeit at a lower level, and £5m is far from extortionate. However, Steven Gerrard has already managed to bring in Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe during this transfer window as he prepares for life without Alfredo Morelos – he has already planned ahead.

Still, he will likely have an eye on how Toney deals with the step up in quality in the English second tier.
