After plenty of waiting, Glasgow Rangers and the rest of Scottish football now know the structure of the league pyramid north of the border for next season.
A reconstruction had been on the table, with Hearts owner Ann Budge putting forward a proposal after they were relegated to the second tier following the premature end to the season. The 42 clubs in the top four tiers were asked to vote on the matter and, in the end, it has emerged that the system will remain the same after the proposal was rejected.

Not only that, but Kheredine Idessane has revealed that only 16 teams backed the proposal out of the 42, which amounts to just 38%. This has led to plenty of reaction from the ‘Gers supporters, who were not necessarily behind the proposal considering the change was being backed by SPFL chief Neil Doncaster.

Where did Doncaster get into his head that there was a willingness for a majority of Clubs to accept his reconstruction proposal?
…16 out of 42 is dire in the extreme and just shows how out of touch he is and desperate to avoid court action.
