It’s been a mixed season so far for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, and so they’re hoping that it will take a positive upturn this weekend. They’re on a fairly poor run of form in the Premier League at present, and so a win this weekend will be expected.
Fortunately, Jurgen Klopp has provided some good news ahead of the game that is sure to give our resident Reds a boost. According to Klopp, and via fitness expert Juliette Ferrington on Twitter, Adam Lallana is back and ready to be involved permanently once again – meaning that he is in contention to feature on Sunday. Furthermore, Simon Mignolet is also set to return – marking a huge double boost for the club ahead of the game.

The return of Adam Lallana has been long awaited, and it couldn’t come at a better time for Liverpool. Yet to make a Premier League start this season, the Englishman has played just once in the English top flight this term – coming on for a minute against Chelsea earlier in the season.
Last season he was one of Liverpool’s best players, often pulling the strings alongside Philippe Coutinho in the midfield. Likewise, Simon Mignolet has been in decent form for the Reds this season, and so his return will add more solidity to their squad.
Landlord’s Verdict
Though unlikely to start, the sooner Lallana can get fit, the better for Liverpool.
On the topic of Mignolet, Loris Karius can feel hard done by if his Belgian rival immediately returns to the team, after a solid performance this week, though that speaks volumes of Liverpool’s squad depth.
This could be huge for Liverpool as they embark on a very busy festive period.
