The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reflecting on yesterday’s painful 4-0 defeat in the Scottish Cup semi-final to their biggest rivals Celtic. The Bhoys in Green took a 2-0 lead into half-time and doubled that by full-time after Rangers gifted them two penalties in the second 45 minutes and saw them reduced to ten men when Ross McCrorie was shown red.

Whilst he can be commended for facing the media after such a drumming, Graeme Murty has come in for criticism from the Gers propping our bar up. The gaffer, who stepped in after Pedro Caixinha had been given the boot, was made interim coach in October before being given a contract until the end of the season in December. Results at the start of his tenure would’ve suggested he could be in line for an extension to his contract although that’s the last thing the Rangers fans want after yesterday.
In the Scottish Premiership, things are looking slightly better for the Bluenoses, they’re currently second on goal difference, as they sit on 62 points alongside Aberdeen. The fans won’t be thinking about securing second place after yesterday though as they’ll be looking back to what could’ve been as Celtic set themselves up a Scottish Cup final against Motherwell at Hampden with back-to-back domestic trebles in sight.

The manager saying nothing to the players after a pumping like that tells you everything you need to know. It’s happened before, the difference being this time we don’t have a Barry Ferguson to stand up and say this is not ok. Shambles.
