Great news for Liverpool ahead of Premier League clash against Swansea City

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the return of the Premier League this weekend. It has been a week of celebrations amongst our resident Reds, with many still enjoying their side’s win over Man City last weekend. 

However, with the Reds set to take on Swansea City on Monday, Jurgen Klopp’s thoughts are already firmly focused on the game against the Swans.

Ahead of the game, the manager has delivered some very good news for Liverpool over on their official website. As per Klopp, Virgil van Dijk is set to return to action and be available on Monday having returned to training on Thursday, whilst Ragnar Klavan and Mohamed Salah could also be in with a strong possibility of featuring. Dejan Lovren, meanwhile, also has a chance – though he is said to be less likely to feature than the aforementioned trio.

All in all, this is pretty great news for the Liverpool. The return of Virgil van Dijk, who missed their last game against Man City, will be welcomed, with Liverpool fans likely still trying to get a look at their new January signing. Likewise, the importance of Mo Salah cannot be understated, whilst their lack of depth at the back could demand a start for Klavan.

Liverpool were likely heading into the game as favourites, given Swansea’s struggles, and these returns will only serve to make things even easier for them.

Jurgen Klopp will be delighted.

Liverpool have had a fair few injury problems this year, but it doesn’t appear as though the German will have much to worry about this weekend.

He can’t take Swansea lightly, despite their precarious position in the league, and so maximum quality will be a welcomed boost.
