Arsenal fans have been lauding Mesut Ozil after the German put out a post to celebrate notching up a personal landmark during his time at the club.
The Germany international started last weekend’s game against Burnley as he notched up his 250th appearance across all competitions (via Transfermarkt). In a post on Twitter, the playmaker sent a message of thanks to the supporters, claiming he doesn’t regret the decision to join the club from Real Madrid (via Mesut Ozil). Since signing in the summer of 2013, he has scored 43 goals and contributed 76 assists as well as faced criticism for numerous reasons.
He has been at the centre of attention whenever he has missed a game, getting widely ridiculed if he was ever left out of the squad. Club legend Martin Keown blasted the attacking midfielder last year after he missed his 100th game for the club, labelling the issue as ’embarrassing’ (via The Metro).
