Harry Kane can put his August hoodoo behind him and fire Spurs to an excellent September

The August ‘curse’ continued for Harry Kane in 2017 as his goals once again dried up in the opening month of the season for a third year running.

The England striker was unlucky on numerous occasions, but simply could not find the back of the net for Spurs as they dithered to an inconsistent and frustrating start to the campaign.

Our Spurs fans here in the Tavern though are still feeling confident, and after seeing Kane hit the goal trail last weekend for England, they are anticipating their star man coming back to bang the goals in once more for their club.

Our landlord agrees with this notion, and he thinks Kane can put his August hoodoo firmly behind him and fire in a boat load of September goals.

Spurs have some pretty decent looking fixtures on paper, with a trip to Everton looking the hardest of the lot this weekend for the month of September. A home tie with relegation threatened Swansea comes before two nice looking away fixtures at West Ham, and newly promoted Huddersfield.

Kane must be chomping at the bit to get off the mark this season, and he will no doubt view the upcoming fixtures as a real chance to get going. His record speaks for itself over the course of the last few seasons, and there is little doubt he will once again get going this season.

If the England man can discover this touch again this month and bang in the goals, then Mauricio Pochettino will be filled with confidence heading into winter that maybe, just maybe, this can be Tottenham’s year in the Premier League.

Spurs fans, what do you think? Can Kane get back into form? Give us your thoughts!
