Harry Refuses To Comment *cough cough* On Signing Chelsea Star

I don’t know about you, but I love a good broadsheet! It makes me feel clever and posh whilst on long train journeys! I especially like them if you get them for free, at airports or hotel reception desks and places like that. Nobody ever leaves broadsheets on the bus, presumably because you pay about £25 for one so you don’t really want to throw them away.

This morning, whilst lying in bed, I got my butler to bring me a copy of The Telegraph whilst I ate my breakfast. And that’s where I heard of Harry Redknapp’s interest in Didier Drogba! The Tottenham manager apparently told reporters that he would be interested in signing the Ivorian, when he leaves Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

When asked whether he would make a move for the Chelsea striker, Redknapp responded with a typical ‘nudge nudge wink wink say no more missus’ style answer that makes me think Spurs will be one of a host of clubs competing for the player’s signature in August. He told reporters, that he ‘couldn’t really say. (nudge nudge wink wink) He’s a fantastic centre forward – power, strength, he’s got everything. He plays for Chelsea and until the decide otherwise, you can’t speculate on his future.’

For me, it’s unlikely that Drogba will stay in the Premiership. The smart money is already on him moving back to Marseille and finishing his career in France. Tottenham are probably the only English club he’d consider, but I still can’t see him doing that to Chelsea fans. If Spurs can successfully sign him, then it would be a very good signing for the White Hart Lane faithful.

Despite Redknapp’s typically coy comments, I don’t see Drogba playing in a Tottenham shirt next season.

I’m going to live to regret that statement aren’t I? Oh well! Jeeves!! Where’s my boiled egg??
