Tottenham centre-back Sebastian Bassong is apparently considering his options at White Hart Lane, according to the News of the World. The Cameroon international has only made 11 appearances this season for Tottenham, and the 24 year old is reportedly keen on a move away from the club in a bid to find some first team football.

Apparently, Liverpool’s technical director Damien Comolli has targeted 3 of Ligue 1’s finest in a bid to strengthen the Red’s squad for the start of next season. Lyon’s Hugo Lloris, Paris Saint Germain defender Mamadou Sakho and Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila are all supposed to be in the Italian’s sights.
The latest name to be linked to White Hart Lane is West Bromwich Albion’s Nigerian attacker, Peter Odemwingie. The 29 year old has been in good form for West Bromwich since signing for them from Russia’s Lokomotiv Moscow. So far this season he’s scored 13 goals in 29 appearances for the Baggies, making him one of the league’s top goalscorers. He’s one ahead of Tottenham’s top scorer, Rafael Van Der Vaart, so it’s little surprise that Harry Redknapp is keen to sign the striker.
Borussia Dortmund are apparently on the verge of signing German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. That means that they are also on the verge of selling their current star, Nuri Sahin. The Turkish playmaker has been at Dortmund since 2005, apart from a brief loan spell at Feyenoord. He’s made 130 appearances for the German club and scored 14 goals. Now that he’s on his way out of Dortmund it’s alerted most of Europe to his talent and potential and the 22 year old is suddenly hot property.
Jones is 24, so he’s about the right age for Everton, and he’s cut his teeth on the lower rungs of the English league system making him the archetypal David Moyes signing. As Vitalfootball say, he’s out of contract at the end of the season, and with Preston relegated he probably won’t be hanging around. Step forward Bill Kenwright and David Moyes, who’ll be doing the usual Everton trick of recruiting cheaper players from the lower leagues rather than look abroad.
According to the Daily Mail, Dutch midfield maestro (my words…not theirs!) Wesley Sneijder was qouted on Dutch radio station Studio Ajax as saying ‘Do I want to go to United? It’s a beautiful club.’ Although he did go on to say that he was happy at Inter Milan, it’s a bit like that girl you’ve fancied for ages saying, ‘Do I want to go out with you? Here’s a real peach from the Daily Mirror! Apparently the agent of Napoli’s Christian Maggio, Signor Massimo Briaschi, has been flapping his gums about the winger’s potential move to the Premiership with Tottenham being the most likely destination. The Mirror quoted Briaschi; ‘We are waiting for a sign from the club. We said we’d meet again with the directors, then nothing else came of it. We are here waiting.’ Perhaps it’s just not going to happen Massimo. Or maybe offers will be like buses…you wait a lifetime for one and then two come along at once!
According to the Daily Mirror, Sir Alex might just have beaten his old nemesis to the signing of highly rated French youngster Rapahel Varane. If true, the news will be particuarly galling for Wenger as his Arsenal side continue to collapse as the season draws to a close. The youngster can play at centre-back or in central midfield, and it’s no secret that Arsenal are desperate to recruit players in those areas. If Sir Alex gets there first, it will be particuarly sickening for the Gunners.

Even the most blinkered Tottenham fan, with his head stuck firmly in the sand, living under a rock and wearing ear-muffs will have noticed that the cream of Europe are falling over themselves to get him in their side. Today comes the news that many Tottenham fans will have been dreading.
The latest team to be linked with a move for the young winger is Tottenham’s London rivals Chelsea. According to the Daily Mirror, the Blues are ready to offer £40 million for the Welshman.
According to Graeme Bailey at Sky Sports (he initially broke the story) Lyon left-back Aly Cissokho is tempted by a move to the Premiership, believing himself to be perfectly suited to the English game. The 23 year old was quoted as saying, the Premier League ‘is a league that suits me. It is a league where you can show power and get forward.’ He’s right there! The English game is a much more physical game than anything on the continent, with the pace and attacking style turned up to 11! And when you look at some of the attacking wing-backs we have in this league, Cissokho would fit right in.
This morning, whilst lying in bed, I got my butler to bring me a copy of The Telegraph whilst I ate my breakfast. And that’s where I heard of Harry Redknapp’s interest in Didier Drogba! The Tottenham manager apparently told reporters that he would be interested in signing the Ivorian, when he leaves Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The Toffee’s have been linked with a summer move for Stuttgart’s Matthieu Delpierre. The 29 year old has been with the German club for the last 9 seasons, after moving there on a free from Lille in 2004. So far, the Frenchman has made 15 starts for Stuttgart, but has suffered some injury problems in recent months. He’s managed to recover quickly however, and his recent good form has put Everton on high alert.
