It’s been a tough start for Pedro Caixinha at Rangers and the scale of the job he’s taken on at Ibrox must be coming into full consideration, after a poor couple of weeks for his side.

Gers fans here in the Tavern haven’t been at all impressed with the almost chaotic way the Portuguese chief has gone about things during his tenure at the club so far but with the SPL title out of reach this season, it’s all about finishing as high up the table as possible this time out.

But with poor results has come the need to find someone to blame and it’s clear that even here in the pub, there are a couple of figures that are repeatedly singled out for criticism every time they step out on the pitch, even if the game ends in a Rangers win.

So with that in mind and after a good old chat with our Rangers-mad barman, here’s the TWO Gers men we think are always seen as scapegoats at Ibrox…

Kenny Miller

Kenny Miller is a huge Rangers favourite but his goalscoring really hasn’t been as good as we’ve seen in recent seasons and the veteran striker has come in for a bit of stick this campaign.

He’s only scored six goals this season in the league which for his standards, is a long way off but many forget that Miller is now approaching 38-years-old and inevitable retirement, which surely must be on the cards in the next couple of years.

Clint Hill

Another man that seems to always come in for criticism is veteran centre-back Clint Hill, who, all things considering, has done a superb job this season.

Another 38-year-old, Hill has chipped in with his fair share of goals and has defended decently well this campaign, but it’s clear that if Rangers had more of a budget, someone else would be coming in at the back.

But for now, he’s done a decent job – including a superb goal against Celtic in the Old Firm at Parkhead a couple of weeks back.
