Our Sheffield Wednesday fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been busy reflecting on a transfer window that yielded plenty of talking points for their club this summer.
Indeed, as there always is in the Championship, there was plenty of movement right up until the deadline last night and things were no different with the Owls as striker Sam Winnall left the club for Derby County on loan.
A somewhat surprising deal, given that Wednesday need goals at the moment, Winnall will now be looking to help the Rams get promoted this season instead of the men from Hillsborough.
Certainly, then, there was plenty getting said on Twitter amongst the Owls’ fan base last night in reaction to the move, with many getting in touch with Winnall to express how sad it is to see him leave the club for now.
With that in mind, then, here is the best of the reaction:
After a whirlwind day, I’m buzzing to have joined another huge club @dcfcofficial. Cannot wait to get started pic.twitter.com/6dwVGN8MPR

Good luck lad. Never gave less than 100% for us, harshly treated & under-used #swfc

Good luck Sam, gutted to see you go. Hopefully you’ll get a regular place at Derby. #QualityPlayer

Good luck Sam. Gutted you’ve gone though, wish you’d have had more of a chance to prove yourself at Hillsborough.

Good luck, hope there’s not an option to buy.
