The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are oh so nervous ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final. Indeed, the punters propping up our bar are wondering whether the stars will align to hand the Reds their sixth European crown, though the small matter of beating Real Madrid stands in the way.
While the Reds have been riding the crest of a wave in Europe for most of the season, an injury crisis has mounted for them ahead of this week’s crunch clash in Kiev. The likes of Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are out of the game and our local Kopites are praying that nobody follows them into the treatment room.
