The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been trying to distance themselves from these rumours by Di Marzio that claims the club are interested in spending up to 40 million euros to bring Portugal and Barcelona midfielder, Andre Gomes to the club.

This summer has seen Arsenal linked to so many midfielders, it’s getting to the point that The Gunners are losing count on those that they’re “in talks with”. Over the last couple of weeks, Adrien Rabiot, Stephen N’Zonzi, Ever Banega and Lucas Torreria have all been closely linked with a move to The Emirates. However, the fans seem certain that the only midfielder they’ll be securing the signature of is Torreira.
The news that Gomes could be a transfer target is worrying for the fans. No one in North London seems to rate the midfielder enough to want to sign him and many fans are convinced that he’s no better than Aaron Ramsey who could be set to leave if the club doesn’t put a new offer on the table for the Welshman soon. Gomes coming in and Ramsey going out would be a disaster for fans and something they should avoid at all costs.

Whilst Gomes may have been a hit a couple of years back for Valencia, the fans aren’t convinced and won’t want their club to pursue this one.
