Arsenal fans being a bit mad has become a punch line in itself and the whole Arsene Wenger saga has seen new levels of hysteria surface among a volatile fanbase.
But does ‘Le Prof’ deserve to be compared to one of the most notorious dictators in global history? Certainly not. Well, that should be the answer, but one Gunners supporter has actually described Wenger as the “Mugabe of Arsenal”, referencing the Zimbabwean politician, who has a… how can we say this… chequered past.
We’ll gloss over the politics, but Robert Mugabe is considered to be one of the worst people on the planet and has been accused of some truly diabolical acts, so to liken Wenger to him is more than a bit unfair!
After all, is one season out of the top four (if indeed the Londoners remain in fifth) since his 1996 arrival that bad?
