Historic Signing On The Cards For McCoist

Rangers have been offered the chance to sign German World Cup star Torsten Frings. Sunsport reported this on Friday and the reports could be pretty accurate as he seeks to perform at the top level.

Meanwhile the David Vaughan deal is hanging in the balance as the player has opened up talks with West Brom and Sunderland and could leave McCoist looking at other targets. Rangers manager McCoist would see the signing of Frings as adding some much needed experience and depth to his side.

Torsten Frings is now nearing the end of his Career and the 34 year old German is said to been on the switch to Glasgow and have one last crack at the Champions League. The German has also played at 2 World Cup’s in 2002 and 2006 and would love to add to his glittering career at the top level.

Frings has been offered a roll on the coaching staff at Werder Bremen but would prefer to play on and looking at options elsewhere. The international has over 70 caps and would be a useful addition to the Ibrox squad which is currently low on numbers and would boost the assault on 4 in a row.
