Arsenal fans here in the Tavern are hoping that Unai Emery will bring in a central midfielder this summer. The likes of Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Mohamed Elneny all lacked quality at times in the last campaign, so an upgrade is required this summer.
Indeed, Arsenal could bag themselves a quality midfielder for a very small price this summer, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek possibly searching for another loan move.
The Chelsea central midfielder established himself as one of England’s most promising talents last season and will no doubt play a big part at the World Cup.
Interestingly, Loftus-Cheek is very effective in the final third, with a deadly eye for goal and a keen eye for a pass. So, the Gunners’ fast-paced attack would be in dreamland with the 22-year-old playing balls in behind the opposition. The Englishman is a very similar player to Aaron Ramsey, making runs forward and contributing in attacking areas as an attack-minded player who could step up to the plate when Mesut Ozil is struggling to find his feet.
Of course, he may not have enjoyed a very successful time at Chelsea, but he was able to gain some valuable experience at Selhurst Park last season. And, with the opportunity to go and join a new club this summer, Arsenal shouldn’t waste any time in bringing in a potential match-winner.
Loftus-Cheek would be a proven option after witnessing his excellence last season and could be the final piece that finally helps them secure a Champions League spot.
