The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been drowning their sorrows of late, with their side’s top four hopes remaining in the balance following a dismal loss to Leicester City on Monday night.
Though the champions really haven’t had much to shout about this season, the Foxes in the bar have been poking fun at the Merseyside drinkers since smashing the Reds 3-1 at the King Power Stadium, invoking their ire.
However, recent reports linking former Anfield and England chief Roy Hodgson with a surprise move to succeed Claudio Ranieri in the east Midlands have turned the tables somewhat. While the 68-year-old will do well to live down the Euro 2016 nightmare, the Kopites in the bar have been reminding the Leicester fans of his ill-fated spell in charge at Liverpool.
Having taken over in the summer of 2010, he left the Premier League giants after just seven months and an unhappy stint at the club, so it’s fair to say the Liverpool fans are having a laugh right now.
With that in mind, here’s how Liverpool fans reacted to Hodgson’s Leicester links.
