It took an Anderson header to break the deadlock in United’s game against Norwich.
The formerly goal shy Brazilian has found his shooting boots (head?) in recent times and yesterday’s goal was his second of the season and his fifth in 11 appearances.
Looking to walk before he can run the midfielder has set himself a 10 goal target this term in order to help United retain the Premier League title,
“One particular aim is to score at least 10 goals.
“I am going to try my very best to score more.”
Anderson has endured a good start to the season after taking part in his first pre season for the club despite joining back in 2007 and he feels that his training has aided his performances,
“You can say it is my best start because I have never played five or six games consecutively at the beginning of the season.
“It’s been great to stay in the side and help make a big contribution.
“I feel like this is my time now. I have trained well, looked after myself and the boss has given me a chance. It is important that I take it and show everyone why I am here.”
Paul Scholes singled Anderson out as a potential key component to the team and he has been looked upon as the man to assume Scholes’ throne and if he can maintain his form from the start of this season (as well as remain injury free!) he will indeed be important to our plans both domestically and in Europe.
