The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern would have been in dreamland if this rumour had cropped up four years ago. However, today, the fans can’t think of much worse than making a move for out-of-favour attacking midfielder, Mario Gotze. According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal are one of three Premier League clubs interested in the playmaker and the fans hate it.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder was the golden boy of Germany’s World Cup squad and he came good in the final. The midfielder, who was only 22 at the time, came off the bench in the World Cup final in Brazil to smash the winner past Argentina goalkeeper, Sergio Romero, just seven minutes from the end of extra-time. Now though, the 26-year-old midfielder has fallen from glory and will be looking to salvage his career with a Premier League move.
The midfielder is reportedly going to be allowed to leave Dortmund this summer, with West Ham, Everton, Marseille and Valencia all interested in the German alongside Unai Emery’s Arsenal side. Borussia Dortmund are keen to recoup most of the £22 million that they shelled out for Gotze to bring him back to the club after selling him to Bayern Munich in 2013, however, it’s unlikely that the German will command a fee of more than £15 million.

Lmao defo. If we sign gotze I’d be very disappointed but I doubt it so much

While I like #gotze, I would prefer #Arsenal sign physically tough players. #Torreira brilliant player but will suffer with long balls. Totally approve #luiz bid. Would take him at afc.

What a hit by Golovin, would love him at Arsenal, better than Gotze who we're interested in.

Forget Gotze sign Golovin what a pass

If we do sign Gotze even tho I think it’s a rubbish rumour, if Ozil stays which is more than likely, gotze will be a squad player. #afc

The Arsenal fans in the Tavern have made it clear that they do not want Mario Gotze in North London. The club are about three years late with their intentions to sign the German and he should look to revive his career elsewhere.
