The Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer are concerned that Daniel Sturridge’s days at Liverpool might be numbered…
A couple of years ago, Daniel Sturridge was the man at Liverpool. After forming a deadly partnership with Luis Suarez, Sturridge was Liverpool’s certified number 9; and he was scoring every week.
However, injuries and other issues have plagued his career as of late, and thus far under Jurgen Klopp – he hasn’t really got started.
He has had to settle for a bit-part role under the German, with Roberto Firmino often preferred as first-choice striker, and some of the Reds in the Tavern are speculating that he could leave the club in January.
It would be a shame, especially given how much he has done for the club; but if it does happen – Klopp must replace him with a worthy stand-in.
With that said, if Sturridge was to be axed in January, these 3 would be perfect replacements…
Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette is a fairly logical option as a primary target for Liverpool.
In terms of direct replacements – you would struggle to do better than replacing Sturridge with Lacazette. Both players are fast, technical poachers – and Lacazette would be an upgrade in every way.
He has been dominant in Ligue 1 over the last few years, and that has continued this season – having already scored 6 goals so far.
Lacazette will almost certainly move to the Premier League eventually, but Liverpool but ensure that he comes to Anfield.
Charlie Austin

Alternatively, Liverpool could stay true to form and go back to their normal breeding ground of talent; Southampton.
The Reds have become well known in the Football Transfer Tavern in recent years for the frequency in which they buy from Southampton – but you can’t argue that it has been a fruitful conquest for them.
Charlie Austin is the latest in a long line of Saints stars that could interest the Redmen, and his enviable form so far this year could really attract Klopp towards him.
Having already picked up 4 Premier League goals so far this season, Austin is bang in form; and he looks to be getting better every week.
Does he carry the star power of someone like Lacazette? No – but he would bring goals.
Mauro Icardi
Whilst Mauro Icardi is Inter Milan’s captain – the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern think that he is certainly going to leave Milan in January.
Off-the-field issues relating to the release of his new book have got him in trouble with both club officials and fans – and it is widely believed in the Tavern that his Inter career is over.
As a result, a move to the Premier League appears likely – and Liverpool could be the perfect destination.
He is a leader, and a prolific one at that – and that is exacly what Jurgen Klopp needs.
Icardi’s off-the-field issues mean that he could be signed on the cheap – and he could be the difference maker for Klopp this season.
