The Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping that the Lillywhites can build on their recent form – barring the recent 3-1 defeat to Man City – this calendar year and ensure an FA Cup final at their temporary home ground come May.

Tottenham’s upturn in form has seen them leap-frog above Chelsea in the Premier League into the much coveted Champions League spots, and Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to pick up the win today against fellow top-four team Man United, in a bid to reach his first final with Spurs.

Spurs will be further buoyed by the return of their star striker Harry Kane in recent weeks from injury and if Pochettino wants to bring success to the Lillywhites, our regulars know that he is key to achieving that.

However, if Pochettino is to progress further this season in his fourth year, the FA Cup is key especially with a squad like the Argentine has got, it needs a trophy.

With that in mind, however, our landlord takes a look at what TWO players the Spurs boss should be bearing the brunt of his frustration on if Tottenham were to be defeated on their own pitch…

Christian Eriksen

The Danish international is another one of Pochettino’s main man in the team, and in recent months he’s really shown an upturn in class. He’s been a revelation so far and is really making Spurs tick in the final third.

Indeed, Spurs need him, alongside Kane to be on top of their game on Saturday and if one of the two are not then Pochettino and the fans will surely not be happy.

An un-Christian Eriksen like performance will be the worst imaginable situation for our regulars.

Harry Kane

The Spurs man has been in inspired form once again this season, and much of Spurs’ upturn in form is down to the England man.

Spurs have a huge semi-final match in the FA Cup against Man United, which surely Pochettino will want to go all guns blazing, with the Argentine being desperate to bring in some silverware.

However, if Kane has one of his rare off days – then usually Spurs don’t fire on all cylinders and the talisman will be the subject of many questions come Saturday evening.
