If Wenger persists with these 2 Arsenal flops tomorrow, their season is over

Our Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern today are hoping to get one over on their north London rivals and advance to the final of the Carabao Cup.

Arsene Wenger will be hoping to take one step closer to winning the League Cup for the first time in his career tonight, by beating Chelsea in a winner takes all semi-final. After recently securing Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United, the regulars in the bar think it should give the whole team little bit of a lift as new signings often do. However, Wenger should be wary of a Chelsea side who are notorious in the League Cup and shouldn’t be taking things too lightly.

With that in mind, our landlord thinks Wenger should avoid playing these two players tonight if they are to succeed otherwise all eyes turn to the Europa League for any chance of silverware to salvage the season…

Danny Welbeck

The former United forward hasn’t set the season alight up to now, scoring only three goals all season. Wenger has mainly deployed Welbeck has a striker when he has played but that doesn’t seem to be working out too well for the England international.

Arsenal are seriously short up front in and Wenger needs his current strikers to step up to the plate but, as many of our regulars have seen over the years, Welbeck fails to deliver on a regular basis.

Rob Holding

The 22-year-old centre back hasn’t impressed too much when he’s played this season in his 19 appearances thus far. Furthermore, the lads who have been watching the Gunners in the pub this year are hoping Wenger keeps Holding to a bit-part role going forward.

One of Holding’s weaknesses is tackling, which as a defender isn’t the best attributes to be failing in, especially if they have aspirations of getting himself in the team n a regular basis in 2018.
