Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Arsene Wenger can avoid a potential loss against struggling Swansea.
Le Prof will be looking to put the whole Alexis Sanchez saga behind him and his team and push on to reclaim Champions League football for next season. His Arsenal side currently sit in 6th in the table and trail Tottenham by three points, setting things up nicely for the second stage of the Premier League campaign. So, if they are to fight for that famous fourth spot that Arsenal have been able to get on many occasions in the past, Wenger has to start to drop the players that are not bringing anything to the table.
Swansea last time out beat an in-form Liverpool side, as they look to fight to the death to preserve their Premier League status. The Gunners can not afford a slip-up and with that in mind, our landlord takes a look at two players the French boss should drop for this game tonight…
Danny Welbeck

The former Man United man has struggled to make a big impression at the Emirates Stadium since his move. Many of the regulars think that, like his time at United, Welbeck has the promise to offer to do much but rarely hits the heights he should do on a regular enough basis.
He has only found the net on a couple of times this season and with the loss of Sanchez, Wenger needs players that can give him top performances each and every week.
Granit Xhaka

The midfield man has been up and down for Arsenal during his time at the Gunners. Indeed, in recent weeks the emergence of Mohamed Elneny in the defensive midfield position has led many of the Arsenal faithful to see him dropped, in an attempt to bring more stability into the side.
Our regulars would like to see more from the tough tackling international and to take the game to the opposition but if things don’t improve, Xhaka could find himself on the bench more often.
