If Wenger starts these 2 Arsenal players tonight, Chelsea’s cup dream is over

Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping to get on over on their rival Chelsea tonight in the semi-final second leg.

Surprisingly in his two decades at the Gunners, Arsene Wenger has never won the League Cup and will be looking at taking a step closer to adding it to his cabinet by dumping Chelsea out of the semi-final.

Arsenal will be buoyed by the recent signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United, and despite losing Sanchez the other way, many of our regulars feel the balance and overall morale of the team will be greatly improved as we saw at the weekend against Crystal Palace.

Indeed, Wenger will look to freshen things up and give a few fringe players the chance to impress and our landlord thinks that by starting these two players, Arsenal gives themselves a great chance of adding some silverware to their season…

Konstantinos Mavropanos

The winter signing is yet to get any first team action despite playing 90 minutes in the Premier League 2, though Wenger has a history of playing youngsters in the League Cup and blooding this young Greek defender would be a great baptism of fire.

Many of the regulars in the back of the bar would love to take a look at the new signing and see what he can bring to the Emirates Stadium for many years to come.

Reiss Nelson

The versatile youngster can play up front or on the right wing, Nelson has featured mainly in the two cup competitions this season, the Europa League and the Carabao Cup. With that in mind, the 18-year-old will be looking to break into the first team over the coming years and giving a good account of himself when given the opportunity.

Having not registered his first goal yet, our punters will hope that he can find the back of the net tonight against Chelsea.
